Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026.
Fallow & Blade Acreage Services (a registered business name of Andrew Farran, ABN 23 291 182 767, Pullenvale QLD 4069), referred to below as "we" or "us". "You" means the property owner or their authorised representative who books our services.
These terms apply to every job we carry out. Booking a visit constitutes acceptance of them. The current version is always available on this page; the version in force for a job is the one published on the day the booking is confirmed.
1. The services
We provide slope and acreage mowing and slashing for acreage properties (not suburban blocks) in our published service area: regular maintenance, overgrown recovery, and clearing and firebreak work, using the Ventrac 4520P with its deck configurations.
We do not provide tree felling, chemical spraying, fencing, earthworks, or irrigation work. Where a job needs those, we will say so and, where we can, point you to operators we trust.
2. Site walk, scope, and estimates
Before the first job on any property we carry out a site walk with you, at no charge. Following it we provide a written scope and a day-range estimate.
Estimates are genuine estimates, not fixed quotes. The work is billed at the published rates for the actual time worked, within the estimated range. If, once work begins, conditions materially differ from what the site walk could reasonably reveal (for example concealed rock or obstacles under long grass), we will tell you before the estimate is exceeded and agree the next step with you.
We do not commit to firm pricing for slope work on terrain we have not assessed in person.
3. Pricing and payment
Our rates are published on the pricing page and repeated in every written scope:
- Day rate: $1,300 + GST (up to 7.5 hours on site)
- Half-day rate: $800 + GST (up to 4 hours on site)
- Fuel: charged by the litre, at the cheapest unleaded price published for the local area on the day of service (per the Queensland fuel price reporting scheme, as listed by RACQ)
- Transport within the service area: included
A tax invoice is emailed on the day of service. Payment is due within 7 days by bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice. If an invoice remains unpaid after 14 days, we may decline to schedule further visits until the account is settled.
4. Scheduling, weather, and cancellation
Bookings are confirmed in writing and you will receive a reminder the day before. We do not mow slopes in wet conditions: wet ground makes slopes unsafe and the machine damages wet turf. If weather forces a postponement, we reschedule to the next available dry day at no charge to you.
You may cancel or reschedule a booking without charge by notifying us by the end of the business day before the booked day.
If we arrive for a confirmed booking and cannot access the property (for example a locked gate with no arrangement in place), the half-day rate applies.
5. Access and your obligations
Before the first visit you must:
- confirm access arrangements (you do not need to be home, but access must be arranged in advance); and
- disclose hazards we need to know about, including buried or concealed obstacles (rock, concrete, stumps, steel, fence wire), septic fields and irrigation lines, soft fill and wet seeps, animals on the property, and any areas or native vegetation you want left alone.
We rely on this disclosure to plan the job safely and accurately. We are not responsible for damage to concealed items that were not disclosed and could not reasonably be identified at the site walk.
6. Safety and the right to decline sections
The Ventrac 4520P with dual wheels is rated for continuous operation on slopes up to 30 degrees. We assess gradient at the site walk and during the job, and the operator’s safety judgement is final: we will not work a section we assess as unsafe, whatever the estimate said. Sections declined on safety grounds are removed from the scope and are not charged.
7. Care of your property, damage, and insurance
We close gates behind us, leave them as we find them, respect garden beds and edges, and work carefully around paddock infrastructure (stables, troughs, electric fencing, yard posts). If we damage something, we will tell you the same day and put it right.
We hold public liability cover of $20 million, together with tool and equipment cover and commercial vehicle cover. Certificates of currency are available on request.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
8. Photography
We may take photographs or video during work on your property, which we may use to demonstrate our work, as described in our privacy policy. If you would prefer we not photograph your property, or not use material captured there, tell us at or before the site walk; we will record and respect your preference, and it will not affect the service you receive.
9. Privacy
Personal information you give us is handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time; changes apply to bookings confirmed after the change is published.
