Tough Cut deck
For heavy vegetation and overgrown areas. Cuts grass, weeds, and woody stems up to 25mm. The deck we reach for when the ground is rough or hasn’t been touched in a while.
If your property has slopes that keep getting left unfinished, or terrain that’s too steep for a standard zero-turn, you’re in the right place.
Articulated 4WD tractor. 31 horsepower. Dual wheels fitted. Rated for continuous operation on slopes up to 30 degrees (58% grade). This is not an edge-of-envelope rating: it’s the continuous operating specification with dual wheels, meaning we work at that angle for an entire day, not just pass over it briefly.

For grass in good condition (shorter, denser growth without surface rock). Deck set lower than the Tough Cut for a cleaner result. Used on slopes as well as flat ground.
Most jobs use both. The Tough Cut handles overgrown ground and the rough work; the finish mower gives a cleaner cut where the grass is already in good condition. Both run on slopes and flat ground alike: the deck is chosen for what’s being cut, not the gradient.
We don’t do tree felling, chemical spraying, fencing, earthworks, or irrigation. If you need any of those, we’ll point you to operators we trust.
Monthly visits in the growing season (October to April), one or two visits through winter (May to September). Scheduled in advance. Recurring clients are typically managed on an annual cycle. For a recurring client on a 10-acre property, typical annual spend across the full cycle is in the range of $5,000 to $10,000.
Single visits for establishment clean-ups, annual firebreak slashing, and property preparation. One-off clients who are happy with the work often move to a recurring arrangement. Both models are priced at the same day rate.
We assess the slope on the ground, identify any hazards, and plan the approach. We’ll ask you about any areas you want left alone, animals on the property, and any native vegetation to be avoided. This is not optional. It’s how we keep both of us safe.
Surface rock is a particular feature of properties in this area: the geology underlying Pullenvale and Brookfield produces volcanic rock outcrops across many slopes, ranging from small surface stones to boulders that need to be worked around. A regularly maintained property is straightforward to navigate; on a property that has been left unmanaged, rock can be completely hidden in long grass. We identify rock during the site walk and factor it into the job estimate.
Tell us where your property is, the rough acreage, and what you’re trying to manage. We’ll come back within one business day.
